Joshua Populus litigates on behalf of clients large and small in Louisiana state, federal, and appellate courts. With experience spanning the full litigation lifecycle, he has managed a high-volume caseload of commercial litigation, business law, probate, and insurance matters. His practice focuses on matters spanning commercial litigation, insurance and casualty defense, and collections.
Adept at case management, Joshua handles client intake and litigation strategy development, drafts motions and pleadings, values cases, analyzes discovery, and advocates for clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and appeals. Joshua prides himself on getting to the root of the client’s problem.
Motivated by getting a win for his clients, Joshua approaches each matter by isolating the details that provide the greatest opportunity to achieve the client’s goals, while also addressing concerns in a practical and cost-effective manner. He prioritizes direct and concise communication, whether discussing a matter with a client or presenting in front of a judge.
Previously, Joshua worked at a general civil litigation firm in Baton Rouge. During law school, he interned for the Louisiana Attorney General’s Litigation Division and worked for a solo practitioner in general civil litigation.
