Litigator Gary Pate Joins McGlinchey in Houston

Pate has joined the firm’s Enterprise Litigation and Investigations section as a Member (Partner) in the Houston office. Gary focuses his practice on complex real estate disputes, products liability claims, trademark infringement, employment litigation, and many others.

Gary is a respected Houston real estate lawyer to whom large real estate brokerages turn when they have transactions that become problematic. Gary handles complaints against real estate professionals with the Texas Real Estate Commission and is a frequent author for Texas Realtor Magazine. He has successfully won real estate lawsuits in Texas for 19 years. Gary was named among America’s Top 100 Civil Defense Litigators in the area of Business Litigation by America’s Top 100 in 2019 and 2020.

Gary represents clients in state and federal courts and arbitration venues, including the International Court of Arbitration. He also protects the rights of manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and other employers in matters brought by former employees who violate restrictive covenants. He won more than $3.4 million for one client in the International Court of Arbitration and has won numerous defense verdicts for clients.

Gary received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2000 and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1985. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Arkansas.
