McGlinchey’s Aaron Kouhoupt Elected to CCFL Governing Committee
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron P. Kouhoupt to the Governing Committee of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law (CCFL). Aaron is a Member (Partner) of the firm’s Financial Institutions Compliance practice and the Chief Privacy Officer of the firm.
“I am honored to join my colleagues on the CCFL Governing Body,” said Aaron. “The Governing Body has the important task of identifying and developing meaningful educational content for our members and the industry overall, and I look forward to contributing to this work.”
Aaron’s unique perspective is informed by more than 15 years of experience as in-house and outside counsel to banks, FinTechs, and various financial institutions of diverse sizes and formats. He applies his extensive grasp of financial services regulation for clients ranging from marketplace lenders and other FinTech companies to community, regional, and national banks, small loan companies, mortgage lenders, and servicers, as well as money transmitters and payment processors.
As a leading voice in the industry, Aaron also serves as the Chair of the Compliance Management Subcommittee of the Consumer Financial Services Committee within the American Bar Association (ABA)’s Business Law Section. He has also published and presented continuing legal education on a wide variety of topics, and has experience as an Adjunct Professor teaching Business Law, Constitutional Law, and American Government at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
The CCFL is a non-profit organization founded in 1926 by members of the legal profession and the financial services industry to offer educational services, publications, and research relating to consumer financial services law. The Governing Committee establishes policies and directs the organization’s activities. Aaron joins seven other McGlinchey attorneys, Mark Edelman, Lynette Hotchkiss, Paul Kellogg, Marc Lifset, Kelly Lipinski, Robert Savoie, and Sanford Shatz, on the Governing Committee. Member Jim Milano serves as the Chair of the Governing Committee.
