During my time at McGlinchey, I have been mentored by some of the best attorneys and licensing professionals in the financial services business. I am proud to be a part of this growing team as it expands to meet the needs of our clients.
Janet McCourtney* acts as a liaison between McGlinchey’s attorneys and financial services clients. She oversees projects relating to new license applications required for company headquarters and branch locations to engage in business operations while complying with rules and regulations in jurisdictions across the country. As business models evolve and clients expand their businesses, Janet assists with implementing amendments to ownership, executive officers, directors, qualified individuals, branch managers, mortgage loan originators, and office address changes.
By coordinating projects with our team of state licensing analysts, Janet provides training and assistance in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks to achieve our clients’ goals. Having worked with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) since its inception in 2008, she is proficient in navigating the system and keeping abreast of the ever-changing requirements issued by state licensing agencies. Janet maintains a licensing catalog to track renewals and assist clients with timely submissions.
Throughout her nearly twenty years at McGlinchey, Janet has built strong professional relationships with numerous state regulators and clients by communicating effectively. Before joining McGlinchey, Janet worked for an industry-leading oil and gas corporation for over twenty years in departments ranging from offshore drilling and exploration to onshore land acquisitions. Janet developed solid organizational skills and is known for encouraging the team to devote proper attention to details and maintain historical records essential in documenting a project from beginning to end.
