I truly enjoy taking on the intellectual challenges inherent in legal practice. Jason Lipkin brings valuable experience as a highly regarded advocate for clients in the financial services, real estate, general commercial, and insurance defense areas. Focusing on New York- and New Jersey-based disputes, he skillfully and vigorously defends his clients’ interests.

In particular, Jason represents mortgage lenders, servicers, and investors in actions alleging fraud, predatory lending, violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes (including New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and New York Deceptive Practices Act), statute of limitations issues, issues with § 1304 of New York’s Real Property Actions and Proceedings Law (RPAPL), and claims brought under the Truth in Lending (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures (RESPA), and Home Ownership and Equity Protection (HOEPA) Acts.

A seasoned litigator, Jason has worked at both large global law firms and a boutique commercial litigation firm. He also spent several years at a major insurance defense firm representing Fortune 500 companies in matters involving products liability and toxic exposure.

Always looking down the road, Jason is dedicated to keeping his clients in front of changing laws and providing key analysis, not just on individual matters, but also on the broader regulatory horizon. His foresight helps keep clients compliant and enables them to steer clear of many nascent disputes.

In his oral advocacy, Jason draws on his ability to simplify and explain complex issues, craft compelling narratives, present facts strategically, and argue persuasively. His talent for thinking on his feet comes into focus when taking depositions that yield crucial information for the defense side.

outside the office

Jason readily names sports and live music as his primary interests (outside of family). He loves live music, particularly jam bands like Phish. He also plays tennis, golf, runs as often as he can, and coaches his sons in flag football, soccer, and basketball. (He’s known in town as “the dad on the sports field.”)

Also, since 2016, Jason has dedicated that same level of energy to a second career advocating for research and treatments that address the autoimmune disease Alopecia Areata, which causes extreme hair loss that can encompass the entire body. He’s very passionate about public education on the topic, and will gladly engage in conversation about it if asked!
