I decided to pursue a legal career in high school, as I often found myself at the center of spirited, intellectual debates among my peers. I observed early on that lawyers are lifelong learners, and I pride myself on continually studying my craft to best serve my clients' needs.
Marcellus D. Chamberlain is a versatile, dynamic litigator who represents lenders, servicers, and other financial institutions. With a focus on consumer protection and creditors’ rights, his clients are primarily in the consumer lending, automotive, real estate, and construction industries.
Marcellus has also represented government and private-sector clients in labor and employment and civil commercial litigation. This work has afforded him trial experience in single-plaintiff and collective action matters. He has also handled collective bargaining negotiations and represented clients from various industries during administrative proceedings.
Marcellus gained invaluable insight into the legislative and federal judicial systems through an internship with United States Congressman Bennie G. Thompson and externships with the Honorable Henry T. Wingate and the Honorable Carlton W. Reeves, both of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
Drawing on his poised demeanor, Marcellus puts his clients at ease and offers a reassuring presence in high-pressure situations.
