Dynamic Litigator Marcellus D. Chamberlain Joins McGlinchey in Jackson
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce the hire of Marcellus D. Chamberlain, Associate in the firm’s Financial Services Litigation team in the Jackson office.
“Marcellus brings a wealth of litigation experience across a variety of forums that will benefit our clients in terms of preparation and strategy,” said Shaun Ramey, chair of McGlinchey’s national Financial Services Litigation practice. “We are delighted to welcome him to McGlinchey.” Marcellus is one of 16 new attorneys hired in the Financial Services Litigation team in 2025.
Marcellus primarily represents lenders, servicers, and other financial institutions. He has a focus on consumer protection and creditors’ rights in the consumer lending, automotive, real estate, and construction industries.
Marcellus has also represented government and private-sector clients in labor and employment and civil commercial litigation. He has trial experience in single-plaintiff and collective action matters. Marcellus has also represented clients from various industries during administrative proceedings and handled collective bargaining negotiations.
Prior to practicing, Marcellus held an internship with United States Congressman Bennie G. Thompson, and externships with the Honorable Henry T. Wingate and the Honorable Carlton W. Reeves, both of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
Licensed in Mississippi, Marcellus earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Mississippi College Law Review. His contributions to the Law Review earned the Best Casenote Award for his piece entitled It Takes a Village, Not a Schoolhouse: The Deprival of Parents and Students’ Rights to Privacy & Expression in Context of Bell v. Itawamba, and he also earned the Best Paper Award in his Business Associations course. Marcellus holds a B.A., cum laude, in Political Science from Tougaloo College. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Magnolia Bar Association, and the Charles L. Clark Chapter of the American Inns of Court.
